Kepnock Robotics Team
The Kepnock Robotics Team is a hands-on extracurricular activity for students who are passionate about technology, coding, engineering and problem-solving. Using LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robotics kits, students design, build, program and test robots to complete a range of exciting challenges.
Students have the opportunity to develop their coding, engineering, teamwork and critical thinking skills while working on real-world robotics problems. Whether they are new to robotics or have had previous experience, all students are welcome to participate and learn at their own pace.
Many Robotics Team members work towards competing in Regional RoboCup competitions held throughout the year. Our teams participate in two Bundaberg Regional RoboCup competitions hosted at Kepnock State High School and may also attend the Central Queensland RoboCup competition held at CQUniversity in Rockhampton. While many students choose to participate in competitions, participation is optional. The team caters for a range of interests, from students preparing for competition events to those who prefer to develop their robotics and coding skills through collaborative projects in a low-pressure environment.
The Robotics Team provides a supportive environment where students can explore STEM concepts, develop confidence with emerging technologies, and collaborate with like-minded peers and teachers.
Meeting Time
Every Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the A08 Computer Lab.
