All eligible children and young people are entitled to 26 semesters of state education and are able to enrol in any state primary and secondary school, unless there is an Enrolment management plan (EMP) in place.

This means students may not be entitled to enrol unless they live within the local catchment area, or for students from outside the local catchment area, have met eligibility criteria asked for by the school. Other conditions may also affect a prospective student's entitlement to enrolment.

Kepnock State High School has an EMP in place and the student is required to write a letter outlining why they want to come to our school. The Principal will read over the letter and either approve or deny the enrolment.

A general enrolment package is required to start the enrolment process, followed by an appointment with the Year Level Deputy Principal. Please make contact with the school to arrange an appointment time.

If you have downloaded and printed a general enrolment package, please bring the completed forms with you when you come for your appointment.   If you cannot download or print a general enrolment package ring to make an appointment.   An enrolment package will be compiled and the enrolment form can be prepopulated if your student has been previously enrolled in a Queensland public school.  Please arrive 15 minutes earlier to go over the paperwork to check your current/updated details are correct.

If your student is looking to start at Kepnock SHS in Year 7 the following year, our enrolment process starts around June/July of the current year.  If your student attends one of our 10 primary feeder schools, they will receive a visit from our Junior Secondary Head of Department.

At this visit, students will receive a Notification of Future Enrolment Form that needs to be filled out and returned to their current primary school. This form will be collected by a staff member from Kepnock SHS and an enrolment package compiled and returned to the primary school. Enrolment packages need to be brought to your enrolment appointment.

At the primary school visits, students will be informed about the enrolment process and important dates.

If your student does not attend one of our primary feeder schools please follow the enrolment process above.
