​Sharks: Surname A - E

Named after Rosemary Lassig, an Australian breaststroke swimmer in the 1960s who won silver in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay at the 1960 Rome Olympics.


Hazzard

Hawks: Surname F - L

Noel Hazzard was an Australian rugby league footballer of the 1940s and 50s.  An Australian international and Queensland representative, he played club football in Bundaberg and Roma. In 2008, Hazard was named at centre in the Bundaberg Rugby League team of the century. 

Tallon 

Tigers: Surname M - R

Donald 'Don' Tallon was an Australian cricketer who played 21 Test matches as a wicket keeper between 1946 & 1953. He played in Bundaberg in his early years and was selected to represent Queensland Country against the England team during the infamous Bodyline tour.

​​Regarded as Australia's finest ever wicket-keeper, with an understated style. He toured Britain as part of Don Bradman's Invincibles​​ in 1948.​

Miles

​Mustangs: Surname S - Z

​​​Thomas John "TJ" Miles was an Australian professional athlete/sprinter who was born in ​Bundaberg. TJ won the 1927 Stawell Gift sprint race, and was​ 1928 World Champion.​
