School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs) Overview
School-based apprenticeship and traineeships (SATs) provide an opportunity for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to undertake employment-based training while continuing full-time enrolment in a school program and studying towards and Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
What Are SATs?
- Combine school and paid work – student will still need keep up with both their SAT and school work requirements
- Available for Year 10, 11, and 12 students
- Earn a qualification while at school

How It Works:
- Choose an apprenticeship or traineeship
- Balance school, work, and training – this is negotiated between all parties (Employer, Student, Parent/Carer and the School)
- School, employer, and training organisation must agree on a schedule
